dressing up again

We got another opportunity to fancy up last night for a 60th bash for a work friend of Clint's. Thought we should catch it on camera as proof

Ozzy didn't want to be left out of the photos either
This is my new Veronica Maine dress that I am loving right now. And those heels made plenty of holes in the lawn at the party - whoopsy. Do you like how Ozzy modelled his paws next to mine! Probably should have gotten a tan (the spray on kind not the skin cancer kind) None the less we felt swanky and like grown ups again for a little while.

This morning it was straight back to reality and off the a 2 year olds birthday party. No heels just every style of Havaianas and crocs on display.
Happy birthday lovely boy. Hope you enjoyed the party and presents. We are glad to have you in the family

40degrees celsius and still learning'

Today is another hot hot hot day in Perth.
Even though I have been air-con hopping (house to car to shopping centre to car to house) so that we spend no more than 2 minutes enduring it, I have managed to learn some simple life things.

1. Araldite is not my friend. I am not saying that it is not good, just that it is not good with me at the controls.

2. Sometimes happiness can come from a pair of shoes. Especially when you have been hunting all over for them and the last shop you try has them in your exact size and on SALE! This then turns into double happiness because your little girl also gets a new pair of shoes with the money you saved. And that turns into triple happiness because your little boy gets a rubber snake toy so that he doesn't feel left out. Which isn't a complete waste because it will also be used to scare birds away from our vegie patch.

3. It is not always the best idea to waste time straightening your hair on hot and sweaty days.

4. the local cats must be very hungry and if you forget to put your esky out for the milko you will not only get spoilt milk, but your loaf of wholemeal bread with be mauled also!

Hope everyone had a lovely Australia Day yesterday and an awesome weekend to top it off.
We are attending a 3year olds Disco party so will hopefully have some great tales and party ideas to share next week.

Hello 2012. We are pleased to meet you

Happy new year everyone. I hope this is everyone's best year yet. Our family got a very special chance to go away to Margaret River in the first week of the year and it was a great trip. Here is some photo's of the adventures we had. (Also we have hidden a tiger in some of the pics so see if you can spot him!)
On our way
To yummy to drive past. Their chorizo is the best I have ever had
The official driver (because I was the official drinker!)
The ashy landscape after the fires in Prevelly. It was quite eery and yet beautiful at the same time.
Cool sculptures at the hedge maze place
Ready to be challenged by the hedge maze. This place was so much fun. Can't wait to go back there on our next trip. The maze itself was a good test too - definitely not too easy.
Having a rest in the maze. We were lost!
A play at the icecreamery
Plus milking the fake cows. So cute and funny.

I have some more photos but will put them in another post.
Did you spot Mr tiger in the photo's?

the rest of December and 2011

Phew we finally made it. I had planned to post a blog every couple of days over December, but the month was out of control. So here are some pics of our December
the boys did some "boating"

Some cool off swims at a friends house

Passing out sitting upright

Putting reindeer food out on Christmas Eve

All the magic of Santa

Fancy feasts with cousins
Awesome Christmas day fun

Followed by more present madness
Passed out in the car before we made home

Getting dressed up for more celebrations

Such a pretty petal.

Cooling off in the paddle pool
falling asleep mid action man play
Finishing off the year with Camping-our-way. Also known as pitching the tent in airconditioned loveliness!

day 2 and 3

Day 2 on the advent was write a letter to Santa and Day 3 is to play a Christmas game on the computer(easy - that should give us a nice quiet half hour today)

Also on today's agenda is more work on the "BLACK" project

our tree from Day 1's task
Oh and don't you just love a tree decorated with love. Our tree is not symmetrical or organised or have ornaments of just a particular colour scheme. It is however loving decorated by our whole family and that's just how we roll. (I do have one rule though - NO TINSEL! Hate the stuff. Even the thought of it makes me sneeze)

We rescued a glass chandelier this year and made some extra decorations. The lights catch through them at night and sparkle light all around the room.
It was destined for the garbage - but I knew all that cut glass that wasn't ruined still had another life intended for it.

home made Advent calendar

Last year we bought our first advent calendar for the kids. The biggest kid in the house (Clint) had opened all the windows and eaten all the treats before the end of day 2!

This year I thought I'd make something myself. It's not pretty but it is personal.

I made up a list of things to do on Word and cut them out
Then I numbered some envelopes and Lucy and I filled each number with a different pattern. Then in each envelope I put a task and 2 treats

mmmmm cadbury yumminess with popping candy
No real surprise that Lucy is the boss of opening the envelope
And today's task was - to put up the Christmas tree (I may have not been so random in placing some of the activities in certain days)

Which of course ended up with posing!

Wonder what we'll get to do tomorrow?

A playground all to ourselves

Don't you just love it when you go out to a playground and no one else is there and you get to just be silly and not politically correct or polite. We found this playground down on the foreshore and it was completely surrounded by soft white sand, which was great because it was particularly high for our kids so we could worry less about injuries from falls. We were the only ones there for the hour or so we played - and by we I mean that even myself and Daddy bear got into the action.

And we even got a great photo that will definately be framed on our wall of fame-ily. Great photography spunky husband.

proper messy fun!

Today we had an opportunity to have a midweek family outing. Clint works so hard and sometimes that means he is very tired, so we look at every little moment of energy as a possibility to enjoy family life.
We had heard about the new playground at Kings Park - the Rio Tinto Naturescape,
and it was really cool!

It gave our kids a rare chance to play messy. Get wet. Build dams with smooth rocks and make mud.
Plus we got to play with the new camera and capture some of these happy memories

attempting to dam the creek

either side of the little water hole was these "dingo dugouts" So cute

Good "clean" fun. Thankfully we didn't have to worry about leeches or any other disgusting creature.

Even I got my pins in for a paddle

Then followed a little bush walk path to dry off

Yes we are still with you. This wasn't a Hansel and Gretel situation

Peek aboos

Lastly a bit of rope climbing of course

Oh and here is a shot of Mr Handsome with a freshly manicured "stash" for Movember.
